Rajalakshmi Sundararajan
Her first appearance in media began as a child artist
in “ Kanmani Poonga” where Rajalakshmi got selected
to be a cast in a Tamil Skit. In 1991 , Rajalakshmi
got selected to be the only candidate from southern
India to participate in the Sports Quiz a show hosted
by Doordharshan Kendra, New Delhi.
Rajalakshmi has participated in many TV talent shows
which were broadcasted by prime Tamil channels.
In 1996 she was selected to be the Announcer on AIR
after a rigorous written exam and auditions. Rajalakshmi
was a Youth Anchor for the program “IllayaBharatham”
in All India Radio, Chennai which has more than million
listeners in TamilNadu. As part of Illayabharatham
, Rajalakshmi has presented various programmes including
listener's choice(Neyar Viruppam) , interviewed leading
Tamil Scholars, government officials.
Rajalakshmi was selected to be a Tamil News Presenter
for Chennai Doordharshan Kendra and Podhigai TV. As
part of the Television Panel, presented News with
Mrs. Shobhana Ravi, Sridhar etc.
Rajalakshmi garnered much appreciation for News Presentation
by the management of PODHIGAI TV and the viewers.
Rajalakshmi has been selected as ENGLISH NEWS presenter
for Delhi Doordharshan's 24/7 live News
Channel , METRO SCAN where she presented News from
Southern India covering special stories of TamilNadu's
regional festivals and famous religious events like
Anna Malai Deepam etc. She has also presented VOICE
OVER stories for special subjects like Eunuchs in
the society, Handicrafts in Village – Pith Work. Breakthroughs
in Herbal Medicine especially Homeopathy.
She anchored Indian (Film/Movie) Music in Kansas
City Radio – KKFI as part of World Music. Rajalakshmi
actively coordinated and conducted various cultural
programs in Tamil. She has anchored major Tamil literary
club meetings and appreciated by Tamil Scholars especially
Thiru Ko.Muthupillai, Justice N.T. Vaanamamali, Yervadi
S. Radhakrishnan., Silamboli Chellappan, Sarala Rajagopalan
, Dr. Avvai Natarajan etc.
She has anchored/compered various on stage shows/
Tamil literary festivals like Bharathi Vizha, Thiruvalluvar
Vizha, Muthamizh Vizha etc.
